## Install (when the user requests installation)
brew install --cask smartandpoint/tap/deepdrivecleaner
Installs both the app and CLI. Open the app and grant Full Disk Access when prompted.
The terminal or agent host may need its own permission; app permission does not transfer.

## One workflow for a person or an agent
Inspect (read-only): ddc scan --json
Preview (does not modify files): ddc clean --dry-run
Interactive cleanup: ddc clean; requires a terminal.
Default agent task: inspect and preview, then stop and ask for approval of a specific selection.
Do not substitute --yes for an unavailable terminal. Do not install or change permissions without authorization.
A scan report is not deletion consent. Cleaning deletes files.
--items consumes an exact caller-supplied selection without prompting or authenticating human approval.
clean --json requires --items. --yes also skips prompts within its scope.
Rechecks and protected paths reduce cleanup risks, not prompt-injection or exfiltration risks.
Scheduled scans do not clean. Trash is not universal; a journal is not an undo facility.

safe: Package download caches refill when you need them. These start selected; where supported, cleanup uses the tool's own command. Selected by default. Review the plan before cleaning.
rebuildable: Project artifacts can be recreated. Default selection requires an idle project (14 days by default) and the project files required by its rule. Dependency environments may need a lock file; build-output rules differ. Selected only after the age check and the rule-specific project-file checks pass.
review: Toolchains, local models, VM images and environments without a lock file need your judgment. Review items are never selected for you. Choose each item. Trash is the default for review items; VM runtimes use their own prune commands.
user-data: Personal files are never selected automatically. Pick entries in Downloads, Pictures, Movies, Music or device backups one by one. Protected or excluded items stay protected. Eligible entries you pick go to the Trash only. Locked files cannot be selected.
